This weekend I had to pleasure of photographing this little fairy. The journey to this shoot was fun and frantic and fantastic and frustrating. I approached the purple fairy's mom about this shoot maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago when the idea was just budding in my mind and she was so excited! We nailed down a date, knowing that they would have family in town shortly and then immediately would leave for a trip across the state. On Tuesday, mom ordered the costume and looked at makeup. We thought there was no way this adorable outfit would make it from Wisconson to Bonney Lake in 4 days, but lo and behold it arrived the day before our scheduled shoot! I did a happy dance in the privacy of my home (no one should have to witness my dancing). We scrambled a bit to confirm that everything was in place. Weather was supposed to be a cool 65 degrees, my favorite sister-in-law worked out her schedule to do hair, and our pretty fairy's mom set to work on make up. Everyone was super excited to get to our location and began shooting, but about 2 minutes before we pulled into the parking lot, the rain began...it was pretty light so we decided to just work through it until it got too bad or too cold. Our precious model would pose, warm up, pose, warm up, pose, warm up until her heart just wasn't in it anymore. The rain never let up and by 7pm it was getting chilly so we decided to pack up when Miss A decided she wanted to pose in our final location. After another 30 minutes of shooting (and my own kids deciding to pose too) we were done. Tea and cocoa for everyone!
Thank you so much Mel, A, and Rose for all you each did to make this happen! You guys rock!
